Belgian Malinois being Trained by Homeland K9 Crew

Daniel Artiles

Board Member of Civil Unrest
K9 Director of Decoy Training
National Select Decoy

I’ve been deeply immersed in the dog training world since the age of five. As a second-generation dog trainer and decoy, my journey began in Hialeah Gardens, Florida, where I grew up learning the ropes of training Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds, and German Shepherd puppies alongside my brother Eddy and father Gus. Now, at 33, I bring 28 years of rich experience to the table.

My real hands-on training started just after turning twelve, when I began working with young adult working dogs, honing my skills as both a trainer and a decoy, mastering techniques with a sleeve and suit. By 14, I was already involved in French Ring sport, working at the French Ringers Club (NARA) in West Palm Beach. There, I grew into a seasoned training decoy, contributing to the development of numerous ring dogs across all levels of the sport, from Brevet to Ring 3.

By the time I was 20, my focus had shifted entirely to Belgian Ring Sport, NVBK, and specialized training in police, detection, and personal protection dogs at the Florida NVBK club (NVBK America Club). This experience allowed me to master the NVBK training methods, expertly guiding dogs from puppies to titled NVBK champions. Additionally, I played a pivotal role at Vom Artiles Kennel, producing top-tier police and detection K9s for sale to police departments and international governments.

Today, I lead the decoy work at the VAK Training Club and manage the Civil Unrest Program. My expertise also extends to my role at Vom Artiles Kennel, where I’m dedicated to training bomb and narcotics detection dogs for government agencies and police departments. My lifelong dedication to dog training in Florida has equipped me with unparalleled skills and knowledge in this field, making me a go-to expert for anyone seeking advanced K9 training services.
